Do you feel that the average undergraduate course does not need a 900-page textbook costing $200 ? You are not alone.
Lecture Notes in Science and Engineering was created to provide textbook-quality lecture notes at a fraction of the cost of a regular textbook.
Textbooks are usually written by professors for professors, lecture notes are usually written by students for students. What's missing in this picture is a product written by professors for students. The books offered on this site are exactly that. And that means the following:
By offering the books for sale through online retailers, we maximize reach while minimizing distribution costs.
Lecture Notes in Science and Engineering was founded in 2013 by Alex De Visscher, textbook author and Canada Research Chair at the University of Calgary. Alex teaches courses in Chemical and Environmental Engineering, and conducts research in air pollution control, solution thermodynamics, solubility, and just about anything that catches his interest. His textbook Air Dispersion Modeling: Foundations and Applications was published by Wiley.
